the Marek’s Republic!
It all began with a simple pencil drawings in a notebook at a kitchen table… Drawing buildings, streets, and cities was initially just a game of a creative young mind. It was also a first sign of Marek’s passion for architecture.
After few years, the Island became the Marek’s Republic with it’s own constitution, flag, capital, train connections, football teams, and many more…
After 50 years of work, Marek has created over 20 cities. The Island is still growing and developing. It’s a life-time project without an end.

I was born and raised in Gdańsk, Poland.
I am an architect living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
After over 20 years of work experience in an architectural company, I opened my own bureau. See more info here.
Since I have retired I have more time to devote to my life passion: further Island’s development.
